Afternoon woodcarving classes.

The classes are for beginners. A fun, social and easy introduction to the wonders of woodcarving.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

The woodcarving

class.

Start time: 2pm   (please ensure you are at the studio by 2pm, so as not to inconvenience others)

Commencing with introductions and studio /tool familiarisation.

The carving undertaken will be a simplified profile relief carving of either an owl or a hare’s head.

The carving class is designed primarily for complete beginners or someone with a little experience. You will not even need to sharpen the tools, that will all be done for you.

The class is held over an afternoon of approximately 3 hours. There will be a maximum of four students at any one time. All tools, materials, tuition, toilets provided.  You only need to bring along a willingness to learn, an ambition to carve and the desire to create something unique from the world’s, possibly, the universes most beautiful and versatile material. Or you just fancy having a go!

Your tutor for the afternoon will be Lee Dickenson, 37 years a professional wood carver and owner of squashedapplewoodcarving. He will guide you through the rudiments of carving your chosen subject.  You will be tapping into his extensive knowledge of woodcarving whilst you create your own carving.

Finish time: 5pm approximately.

You will take away with you, your own unique piece of carving to show all your friends and family and hopefully enjoyable memories of an afternoon well spent at the outset of your carving career.

A completed owl relief carving. You could create your own version of this carving  as a student using just three carving tools in an afternoon woodcarving class!

A completed hare's head relief carving.  You could create your own version of this carving  as a student using just three carving tools in an afternoon woodcarving class!
